Chalkboard Fun

Several months ago I put up a large chalkboard in my living room via vinyl because my head was nearly splitting with ideas of what to do with it.  Then time go away from me!  I want traveling, shopping, working, eating, reading, entertaining, etc. etc.

Today I finally accomplished Idea #1 using my new, renter, military family, friendly chalkboard.  Should I mention that my subject matter wasn't exactly thrilled with me.  She just got done telling me I should be more OCD about the dishes in the sink.  I explained I would happy in being OCD to make sure SHE DID them! 

She believed she could so she did.

Not my absolute favorite as my subject was running out of patience.  But a good starts.

 

I have a million more ideas for boys and couples... hopefully I can convince Keith and Bridger

Proud Mama Bird

My offspring are finally starting to fly successfully from the nest.....

 

Bridger made honor roll for the first time and we were all thrilled for him and his accomplishments.  When I think about the journey we have made together over the years, it chokes me up that we have come this far.  Just to recap for dramatic effect, Bridger has struggled with school since day one.  His first elementry school convince me that he needed medication in order to learn.  Then I spent thousands at Sylan Learning Center because they promised me the world.  What a complete waste of money!  Thank Goodness that didn't last long before I took him out completely of school completely, took him off the meds and homeschooled him.  We did that for 3 years and enjoyed ourselves.  I learned a lot about Bridger and they way he learns.

 

Soon after Keith become adamant (with some prodding from his family) that he should return back to the school setting.  So I finally agreed to send him to a Montessori school a couple of cities away.  He did pretty well there and it gave him a lot of confidence.  After leaving Texas, he went back into the public school system where he will stay until he graduates.  

 

He has bloomed this year though!  He has joined several student organizations and is even an officer in one of them.  He plays several sports to include football and wrestling and loves them both.  I am stunned at his growth!!!!  And oh so proud!

Heart Stopping V-day!

Heart stopping because I just got done cooking 2 pounds of bacon for the kids and considered cooking another pound of sausage to go along with it!    One of their favorite things is a great home cooked breakfast where I don't ration out the meat.  And some pancakes to go along side the bacon.  They are going to be so excited when they wake up today! (No school either! How exciting)

And of course, just a tiny bit of candy.  I just can't resist the cute chocolate creatures I see everywhere this time of year.  Easter especially is ridiculous.  So I got Jadyn the bee and Bridger the fish, with heart gummies for both.

What A Month

My September calender was quite outrageous.  Every block was filled with activities, meetings, appointments, etc, and I haven't even started my new job yet!  Probably a good thing.

 

Last month Jadyn did celebrate a birthday.  She knew she was going to get an iPod touch but was expecting it at this exact moment.  We took her friends to the Parsberg festival and then came home for cake and presents.

This is her suddenly realizing exactly what it was she was getting.

She is so happy!  She has waited a long time to get her own!!

 

This month there was a lot of creativeness going on too!  I helped a friend make thee for her kitchen.  She painted 24 inch rounds and then I added the vinyl lettering.

It was also my sister's birthday so I created this little number to include presents for my two neices.  Put everything in a polish pottery bowl and you can never go wrong!!

 

My old Navy friend Heather came to Germany and Keith and I got to spend some time with her in Munich.  Here she sitting next to this guy we met from Norway.  We had a GREAT time together and I hope we can do it again!

 

This character also from Norway had these crazy glasses on.  You can't tell here but they were green!  So I was teasing him that he was wearing John Deere glasses and how silly was that?  I was corrected and apparently these are high-fashion 400+ Euro glasses!  And he is not even a farmer?!?!?  I say- Ridiculous!

Bridger started football this year!  Finally!!!  With Keith's work schedule over the past few years it has been difficult to put him into sports.  Well this is his year!   Bridger loves it even though he assured us he wouldn't.  He practices 3x a week with games on Saturday.  And I have to say, their practice field is in a beautiful location.  He is number 16

So far they have lost one and won one.

Terrarium

Jadyn LOVES a project!

There is a local store that has a good supply of glass vases and lately I have moss on the mind.  There is a ton of it in our grass and out in the forest behind us.  I LOVE moss!

So I bought a vase and asked Jadyn to create a little landscape inside of it and pretend it was for a fairy. The only thing I told her was I wanted dirt, moss and rocks incorporated inside the vase.
   This is what she came up with...

Junie B. Jones

I know how Junie B. Jones' parents felt!  I have their child except she has been rename, Jadyn.

Jadyn is a busy girl, constantly on the go.  She spent the entire weekend rollerblading with all the boys in the neighborhood and only came in long enough to eat and drink.  The streets are finally free of snow and ice so the children are out in force.  She gets along with best others who take orders from her and small children who don't know better! lol  She will make a great babysitter someday.

And she wasn't a willing participant in my quest to improve my photography skills, but she is going to just have to put up with it.  This is just the beginning...
